Why Vote
“My vote doesn’t count.” “There are to many people that disagree with me.” “My partner will vote the other way.” “You have to vote the party.” “All politicians are corrupt.” “It’s to late.” “Voting is part of the system and I don’t want to be part of the system.” “I’m to young and don’t understand.” “I’m to old to care anymore.” “Nothing ever changes.” “Voting is an illusion.” ” It’s all rigged anyway.” “The winners have already been chosen.” “It’s to cold out.” “It’s to hot out.” “I don’t have time.” “My boss won’t give me the time off.” “I don’t know any of them.” “It’s to confusing.” “The car won’t start.” “It’s getting dark.” I have to feed the dog.” “. It’s happy hour.” “I really don’t care.”
These are just some of the reasons I’ve come across that people have told me why they don’t or didn’t vote. They sll sound valid to the people that use them. Then I hear about what’s wrong with the Country. All politicians are corrupt, it’s all about money, the left is messing things up, the right messed things up, Reagan, Clinton, Chinese, Cubans, Irish, We’re spending ourselves in a hole, It’s not Constitutional, we need to change the Constitution, We don’t spend enough on this or that, we need more education, people are dying, the welfare system is to big, corporations, the rich guy, it’s to cold. it’s to hot, the weather is changing, Russia, nuclear proliferation, we need more energy, power corrupts, government is to big, we need government to take care of things, Washington did this wrong, Washington did that wrong, over building, the banks, wall street, main street, the military industrial complex, new world order, special interests, militants, martial law, Montana, Texas, Utah, Arizona, Florida, illegal immigration, no place for immigrants to go, and oh yeah my most favorites, me. I’m going to dilute the Democrat vote and I’m going to dilute the Republican vote.
The sky is falling what do we do!
That depends on how you think of this Country. If you think that freedom is good and you like communism then we the people must mean something to you. If you think freedom is good and you like capitalism maybe Article 1. Section 8. is your favorite part. But if your just an American or have learned to be an American or want to learn to be an American or are just a wanna be American. Maybe even don’t want to be an American but believe that The U.S. is unique in History and admire the founding of it, and you’re not to naive to admit that a couple of documents got it started with a lot of perseverance and loyalty and bloodshed.
There really is no reason to vote except for maybe one little issue. The one thing the Constitution of the United States of America aksed us the people to do. It says that We the People are to choose the Representatives that form our Republic. Later on we decide if we like how they handled things for us and we choose them or someone else to represent us in the Republic. If you’re and American and you believe in what America stands for and you want to maintain the Republic. Then vote. If none of that really matters to you, Then don’t.
Great post. Thanks!
