Meet Craig

Craig Porter, a registered member of the Florida Whig Party, added his name to the ballot for the 2010 Election for the 25th Congressional District in Florida. Craig Porter has been a resident of the Miami-Dade his entire life.  Craig, 49, was born in Miami, Florida. Craig and his wife Karen have been married twenty (20) years, have 3 children, and reside in the Miami area.

After graduating high school, Craig went to work for his father in the family business and went on to become a general contractor and business co-owner. Currently he and his 84-year-old father own and operate Mr. Cricket Inc., a General construction business that does mostly residential remodels, a few small government contracts and some commercial remodels.

Craig also currently serves as the president of a conservation non-profit know as “Feral Cat Control”. Feral Cat Control was established to address the growing problem of invasive species of plants and animals in Florida. They are a non-profit corporation formed to identify conditions within the State of Florida that are causing native wildlife to diminish in numbers or creating a hardship for survival. Feral Cat Control is a publicly funded non-profit corporation founded to help keep Florida one of the best places to live and visit.

With over twenty-five years of business management experience, Craig has worked closely with the people of the 25th District. This truly unique experience has enabled Craig Porter to possess a unique perspective on what it means to make a difference in his community.  Craig’s compassion, and dedication to his family and others are second to none, which makes him imminently qualified to represent the citizens of the great State of Florida in the 112th Congress.

Craig Porter was most recently recognized by the national media for becoming the nations first qualified federal Whig candidate in the United States since the 1850’s.
